Hello CDOs,

I wanted to share this with you as an example of an acceptable email to send out to signups in your city/state. Feel free to use this as a guide but please don't just change the name and location and send it out. I am trying to contact the signups in my area every 4-6 weeks to keep them informed on local and national Common Good Finance progress.

Dear ???,

Congratulations. Signing up to support Common Good Bank means that you have simultaneously supported a new kind of banking for our community and joined a movement for social change to help us meet the environmental and social challenges that we are increasingly facing. That’s what it means to support Common Good Bank, http://www.commongoodbank.com/

You are one of over 70 people in Oregon, (50+ in Portland) who have signed up to support Common Good Bank divisions in your community and beyond. In fact you are one of the over 1,4,00 people around the world who have already signed up. In order to make our dream of a bank committed to sustainability and economic justice a reality, we will need your continued support and readiness to participate. You are not a customer; you are, or rather will be, a member and a voter in the division’s development decisions.

We will continue to keep you informed of progress and developments in Oregon, around the US and throughout the world as we move closer to our goal of making Common Good Bank a reality in any community around the world with a minimum number of depositors, investment, etc.

We are looking for more potential members. Any community in which we can enroll 50 future depositors, 5 businesses and at least 1 non-profit, can lay the groundwork necessary to start its own division. As a member yourself, you can recommend any businesses or non-profit in your community who might be interested in partnering with you and us. When you do, we (and you, if you wish) will call on them and invite them to join.

Obviously the more people we get to sign up the quicker we can reach our goal and begin operations. So please spread the word to your friends and family about what we are doing and let us know how to reach them. And also let them know that as a 501 (c) 3, we are accepting tax deductible contributions, which are a crucial part of reaching our goal and making Common Good Bank a reality in your communities and ours.

Incidentally, we are hiring more organizers like me right now, and if you are interested or know of someone in Portland or elsewhere the US who might be qualified. In addition to organizers to start common good bank divisions we are also looking for college/grad school students and others who might want to do an internship with us or other professionals who want to design their own job with us. Please visit http://commongoodbank.com/jobs to learn more about these great opportunities.

Also, I am pleased to announce that three other organizers are working with me here in Portland. James R. Newcomer, jnewcomer@commongoodbank.com Julian Lauzzana, jlauzzana@commongoodbank.com and Manuel Hall, mhall@commongoodbank.com have joined the efforts to organize in Portland. In Eugene Amie Chaudoir, achaudoir@commongoodbank.com is also organizing. The number of organizers is growing around the country and these are exciting times for us and the communities we care about and are involved in.

Feel free to call or email me with any names, questions, or suggestions.

Thanks again for your interest and support. Now the journey begins.

Sincerely,
Blake
